"Go clean your room!"Overwhelmed by the amount of mess in my room, i end up procrastinating about fixing my room and let myself succumb to laziness.. Then i came across this article from unclutterer, on establishing routines. The bottomline of the article, as i understood it, is that i could assign different chores/ areas of my house/ room to a particular day or week so i won't feel overwhelmed by the amount of work i need to put in just to do my chores/ clean my house/ room (I hope i did the article justice!).
Based on the above principle, i have assigned a particular day and time for the tasks i need to accomplish to be able to see, smell and call my room clean.
Here is what i came up with, Sunday - Closet (from sorting the clothes, cleaning the shelves, etc) Wednesday - Shelves - where i have my books, magazines, my landing strip (for another post!) and my shoes below (from dusting my books, sorting junk out of my landing strip, cleaning my shoes, etc.) and, Saturday - Bed and window area (from changing bed linens and curtains, sweeping under the bed, etc.)
Going through these motions ensures that by the end of each week my room is clean and clutter free!
Try mixing and matching the basic idea or principle of the article from unclutterer.com with your own lifestyle and clutter needs! Goodluck!!
